The Milk Bar Training Bottle is designed to be used in two feeding positions.
- Standing behind the calf. This position is ideal for young or weak calves. By straddling the calf, you can gently hold them in position with your legs.
- Standing in front of the calf. Once calves are feeding confidently, you can switch position and stand in front of the calf. This prepares her for drinking from a fence hanging feeding.
After a few feeds, your calf should be ready to move onto a fence hanging feeder fitted with Milk Bar Teats. Changing to the more controlled flow of the Milk Bar Teat safeguards calves against the harmful effects of fast feeding.
How do I change the bottle teat?
The softer compound makes it easier to pull the training Teat from the bottle.
Grip the bottle with your knees.
By hand or with pliers, pull the teat firmly to the side, Or using a sharp blade, cut the teat at the base.
Place the new teat into the hole and pull through. Be sure check the teat is aligned correctly and the slit is vertical.
