In the U.S a trial was performed with 48 calves to evaluate daily weight gains and starter ration consumption.
All calves were housed in the same barn with some calves being group fed and other individually.
The group fed calves were fed from the Milk Bar 5 fitted with Milk Bar Teats.
The individually kept calves were fed from buckets.
Calves were fed the same quantities of milk replacer with 22% protein and 20% fat.
Ad libitum water and starter ration we available to all calves.
Calves were monitored for daily weight gains and quantity of consumed starter ration.
